Berkshire During the Holidays

Thanksgiving is only a few days away and that means Christmas is just around the corner! Here in the Berkshires, we are starting to feel the holiday spirit. In this post, we have some events that will help you get in the winter wonderland mood as well.

Hoffman Pottery: For Sale and Design-Your-Own

Buying from a local artist and business owner is a great way to be a responsible consumer. If you’ve got your young ones in tow, bring in the whole family for a Plate-Painting Party! Festival of the Trees at the Berkshire Museum

Berkshire Museum has transformed into an enchanted landscape for the 28th annual Festival of Trees. This year’s theme is Myths & Magic. The much-anticipated holiday event began with an opening celebration on Friday, November 16, and runs through January 2, 2013. Stop by to see a decorated a tree inspired by wizards and unicorns, fairy-tale characters, and beguiling creatures of legend and lore.

Lenox Caroling Festival

This is a weekend-long event and takes place at various locations in Lenox. Here’s a breakdown of the schedule for the Caroling Festival:

Friday
Dusk @ Lilac Park: The Christmas Tree Lighting along with Santa’s arrival.

6:00pm @ Ventfort Hall: Gala Reception & Concert.

Get in the holiday spirit with the Lenox Caroling Festival! Dec. 7-9, 2012

Reception and concert by the last year’s second place prize winners, the a capella group MCLA Allegrettos.

Saturday
10:30am – 4:00pm: Caroling Festival Competition will take place all day long in outdoor locations throughout historic Lenox Village.

6:45pm @ Bernstein Theater Hall: Festival Awards Ceremony and sing along.

7:30pm @ Ventfort Hall: Dance the night away to the music of The Greg Caputo Quartet, featuring vocalist Vivian Caputo. The quartet will perform well-loved standards.

7:30pm @ Bernstein Theater: Shakespeare & Company presents the hilarious Santaland Diaries by David Sedaris. Call for tickets: 413.637.3353.

Sunday
1:00pm – 3:00pm @ Lenox Memorial Library: Gingerbread House Contest! Come see everyone’s favorite holiday edible confections, constructed by the Berkshires most accomplished chefs.

3:00pm @ Ventfort Hall: Children’s Holiday Tea & Caroling.
Take part in Ventfort Hall’s “instant” hand-chime Christmas choir. Sing treasured Christmas carols and join us for some hot apple cider, tea and ginger bread cookies at our Holiday Tea.
