Be a Berkshire Locavore

Summer at Applegate means fresh raspberries.

We’re proud to be members of the Berkshire community, and to own and operate a Berkshires Bed and Breakfast.

Sharing the beauty and bounty of the Berkshires is one of the best parts of the work we do. We love to help guests discover our “back yard” during their stay.

One of the ways we do this here at our Berkshire Inn is through the food we serve.

One of the great pleasures of life: eating food you’ve grown

We are members of Berkshire Grown, an organization dedicated to supporting local food and farms. Whenever we can, we purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables and locally raised meats. As you know if you’ve stayed with us in the past, many of the herbs and summer vegetables that end up in our breakfasts are grown in our own garden.

Many of our guests travel from great distances to experience the communities and natural beauty of the Berkshires. It’s the least we can do to serve foods that reflect the land our guests have come to visit.

To learn more about Berkshire Grown, please visit their website.

To enjoy the bounty of the Berkshires, come to Applegate Inn.
