Temperatures are climbing and snow is melting. Spring is here.
You can hear the Berkshires calling to you from Boston, Hartford, and NYC. Your legs are yearning to stretch out along a trail. You want to hear birds, not traffic.
It’s time to take a break from city living. Come to our Lee bed and breakfast for a few days. There are many trails nearby, just waiting for you. You may also want to drive 20 miles north of Lenox to Mount Greylock, the highest point in Massachusetts. From the top, you’ll feel your spirit soar.
On hot summer days, one great cooling activity near our Lee Mass bed and breakfast is a hike to Massachusetts’ highest waterfall: Bash Bish Falls. Just saying the name puts a smile on the face, and sitting alongside its cooling mist is the perfect way to keep summer heat at bay.
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast at our Berkshires lodging, and ask us where to pick up picnic supplies. A short drive east on I-90 brings you to the neighboring town of Egremont, where the trailhead to Bash Bish Falls is located. After a pleasant walk along the shaded trail, the roar of the falls will greet you and magnificent views will delight you.
Bash Bish Falls is located in the Mount Washington State Forest, which is a 4,000-acre forest preserve with 30 miles of trails. If the short hike to the falls doesn’t quench your thirst for a long walk, there are plenty of other trails nearby to try. Rest assured that no matter how far you hike, at the end of the day a cool dip in our pool and a rest in a lawn chair await you at our Berkshires inn.
