Los Muñequitos de Matanzas at MASS MoCA

March 27th, 2011 by Applegate Inn

Jacob’s Pillow and MASS MoCA are collaborating to bring Los Muñequitos de Matanzas to Hunter Center at MASS MoCA on April 30 and May 1, 2011. Spend that weekend at our luxury Berkshires Bed and Breakfast, enjoying the beautiful outdoors and a fantastic performance.

Los Muñequitos de Matanzas is one of the most popular bands in Cuba. The 16 drummers, vocalists and dancers fill the stage with movement and music. It is difficult to remain still while watching and listening to them. People of all ages will enjoy this show – not surprising, since the performers include three generations from one family.

Los Muñequitos de Matanzas has not been in the United States since they were nominated for a Grammy Award in 2001. We are lucky to have them perform so close to our Lee MA Bed and Breakfast.

Spend Valentine’s Day in the Berkshires

February 3rd, 2011 by Applegate Inn

Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year. What a wonderful excuse to whisk your Valentine to our Bed and Breakfast Berkshires for a long, romantic weekend.

Cuddle by the fire while you're here. We do.

Take advantage of our Berkshires Romance Package, which includes two nights in a room with a fireplace, chocolate and champagne, and a sumptuous three-course dinner for just the two of you. Please see our Bed and Breakfast Specials for more details.

A romantic getaway means different things to different people; fortunately our corner of the Massachusetts Berkshires has an abundance of outdoor recreation, cultural activities, and fine dining. Spend your days skiing at Catamount Ski Area, Jiminy Peak, or the Canterbury Farms Cross Country Ski Center. See the latest exhibits at the Clark Art Institute, MASS MoCA, or the Norman Rockwell Museum.

Our guests are always welcome to simply relax at our luxury Lenox MA lodging. Play games, play the piano, or cuddle by the fire as much as you like. Our goal is to help you enjoy a wonderful romantic Valentine’s Day with the person you most love.

Make Time for Romance

April 14th, 2010 by Applegate Inn

We’re running Romance Packages at our Lenox MA bed and breakfast for just a little while longer, through the end of May. A romantic getaway is great excuse to leave city living behind for a few days.  Our Lenox Bed and Breakfast is about 1 hour from Hartford, 2 hours from Boston, and 3 hours from New York City.

Spring is a lovely time in the Berkshires. The small towns start to come out of winter hibernation, throwing open their doors to the sunshine and warmth. Chilly nights make a great excuse to cuddle by the fire at our Lenox inn.

There are wonderful pigs at Hancock Shaker Village

Come for a farm and forest trail walk at Hancock Shaker Village, where you’ll see red trillium in bloom and meet many cute calves, chicks, piglets and lambs. Take in the Giovanni Boldini in Impressionist Paris exhibit at The Clark, before it closes on April 25, 2010; be sure to explore The Clark’s walking trails and grounds, too. Check out Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle’s project Gravity Is a Force to be Reckoned With, at MASS MoCA.

Explore the Berkshires by day. Once back at our Lenox area B&B, you’ll be greeted by a pleasant, romantic atmosphere. Our Romance Package includes a room with a fireplace, a three-course dinner for two, champagne and chocolates. It’s a lovely way to celebrate the departure of winter, the arrival of spring, and your relationship.
