Enjoy Lee MA Chez Nous at
Applegate Inn!

May 6, 2016 by Corey A. Edwards

Lee MA Chez NousThe only thing bad about a great restaurant is that its popularity can keep you from being able to get into it! Our own, favorite, fine and perpetually booked local restaurant, the Lee MA Chez Nous Bistro, has found a wonderful workaround for this with their new “to-go” Ordering System!

Chez Nous Bistro is easily one of the best restaurants here in the Berkshires and absolutely our favorite, serving French country classic dishes and offering an extensive wine list, all in a cozy, romantic setting. We regularly suggest them when our guests ask who we recommend but with the caveat that, even with their outside seating, they are very often booked solid, so get there early!

Best Berkshires RestaurantsIt’s not an easy thing to compile a list of the best Berkshires restaurants. From fine restaurants to sandwich shops, brewpubs to pizzerias, and styles from around the world: Asian, Italian, Greek, Indian, French, American, and more.

Of course, a “best of” list of any kind is bound to be subjective and controversial – our best may not be yours! Thus we offer up this list of superb, top-rated restaurants, within easy driving distance of our Berkshires inn, not as any final word but more a guide and example of the caliber of dining one can find here.

Fine Dining in the Berkshires

November 24, 2010 by Applegate Inn

When next you stay at our luxury bed and breakfast Berkshires, consider dining at one of our favorite restaurants. The Old Inn on The Green is less than 30 minutes from here, in New Marlborough. The ambiance is wonderful, especially during the winter months, when fireplaces crackle in every room. The menu changes frequently, but each bite is always worth savoring. Some nights the restaurant offers only a Prix Fixe Menu, which is fun.

The Old Inn on The Green features such unique plates as Roasted Hudson Valley Squab Salad and Crispy Veal Sweetbreads. It’s a great place to stop for a romantic dinner after exploring the area; there are several lovely waterfalls near New Marlborough, such as Campbell’s Falls, Ashley Falls, and Umpachene Falls. A short hike does wonders to stimulate the appetite.

One of the best parts of being Berkshires bed and breakfast innkeepers is being able to share our wonderful area with visitors. Our guests should never hesitate to ask for recommendations and travel suggestions.

Dining near Tanglewood

Applegate Inn Dining Room

The concierge service we offer at our Berkshires lodging is something unique to Applegate Inn. We know and love many of the great restaurants in the area, and enjoy helping our guests find the perfect dining experience. If you like Mediterranean food, we might send you to the charming Cafe Lucia where you will enjoy your food in an 1840s farmhouse. If you are hankering for a croque monsieur, the penultimate French sandwich, we’ll probably send you to Chez Nous in Lee. No matter what your preferences, it is our goal to ensure that you leave our Stockbridge MA hotel well fed. And of course, we hope you like the blueberry buckle and Baked Stuffed French Toast at the Applegate bed and breakfast.

The concierge at our Berkshires bed and breakfast can also direct you to the best place to stock your picnic basket when you are heading to Tanglewood. Opening night is two months away, and it is not too early to reserve your tickets for Diana Krall on the 4th of July, or plan your visit to our Berkshire b&b.
