Four new, popular artists shows to the Tanglewood 2016 season: Earth Wind & Fire, Jackson Browne, Train, and the B-52’s guesting with the Boston Pops!

Tanglewood can always be counted on the bring top-tier, national and international acts to the Berkshires. This is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, after all!

In a season that already included Grammy-Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti, James Taylor, the Chick Corea Trio, Seth McFarlane, a Jerry Garcia tribute, and the legendary Brian Wilson, the addition of four more big-name acts really amps up the star-power of Tanglewood 2016!

Tanglewood 2016 Additions

Earth, Wind, & Fire – June 18th, 7pm
Earth, Wind, & Fire returns to Tanglewood to join the Boston Pops Orchestra start off Tanglewood 2016 with a musical bang. America’s seventh top-selling musical group of all-time, Earth, Wind & Fire have achieved 8 Grammy Awards, 4 American Music Awards, the Soul Train Legend Award, has sold more than 90 million albums worldwide and is one of the world’s top touring bands, thrilling audiences since 1969.

Jackson Browne – June 21st, 7pm
A Tanglewood favorite, like James Taylor, singer-songwriter Jackson Browne is known for the honesty, emotion and personal politics of his songwriting. He has released fourteen studio albums, four collections of live performances and was induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2007.

Train with Andy Grammer – August 23rd, 7pm
Multi-Grammy Award-winning pop-rock band Train will appear on the Tanglewood stage with vocalist Andy Grammer of “Honey, I’m Good” fame.
Train is a multi-platinum band famous for a number of smash hits, including “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me),” “Meet Virginia,” “Calling All Angels,” and “Hey Soul Sister.”

Boston Pops Orchestra with Special Guest B-52’s – September 2nd, 8pm
It’s “Rock Lobster” meets the Boston Pops when one of pop music’s most beloved and enduring bands hits the Tanglewood stage for the first time: The B-52’s have made a 35 year career and sold over 20 million albums with groundbreaking hits like “Love Shack,” “Roam,” “Deadbeat Club,” and the aforementioned smash, “Rock Lobster.”

Tickets for these recent additions to the Tanglewood 2016 season will be made available March 14th at 10am on the Tanglewood site.
