Jiminy Peak Mountain CoasterJiminy Peak Mountain Resort is well known to visiting skiers – but did you know the resort is open during summer, too? During warmer months, their Mountain Adventure Park offers ziplines, alpine slides, mountain coasters, hiking, scenic chairlift rides, and more. And all less than an hour away from our Berkshires bed and breakfast.

It would be an awful shame to ignore all that beautiful mountain terrain just because it’s not blanketed in snow – and they don’t. In fact, Jiminy Peak’s summer activities may be more diverse than their winter ones. Whether your taste runs to high flying adventure or something more down to earth like hiking, this nearby Berkshires resort has you covered.

Mountain Adventure Park

Mountain Adventure Park is home to the bulk of the resort’s summer activities.

Looking for some high speed, downhill fun? The Mountain Coaster shoots through the woods at speeds of up to 23 mph on a twisting, turning track. If that sounds almost too crazy, bear in mind that the rider is in control of the cart’s speed. The level of thrill is up to you!

Jiminy Peak Alpine SlideVelocity fans will also want to check out the Alpine Super Slide. Shoot down the mountain through tunnels, dips, curves and turns on one of two 1,400 foot (427 meter) long tracks. Like the Mountain Coaster, you’re in charge of the speed.

Looking to get a little higher? Climb aboard the Soaring Eagle zipride with a friend and fly high above the ground. A zipride is similar to a zipline except that two can ride – and in comfort.

Remember trying to get the swing as high as you could on the playground? Revisit those days with a couple of friends aboard the Giant Swing and enjoy some adult-sized swings!

Looking for something a little more sedate but visually stunning? Try a Scenic Chairlift Ride to the summit of Jiminy Peak on the resort’s six-passenger chairlift. The ride is fun and exhilarating and once you get to the top? Absolutely spectacular views of Mount Greylock and the Jericho Valley. Wow.

Jiminy Peak Aerial Adventure ParkJiminy Peak’s Aerial Adventure Park will really get you off the ground. The self-guided, forest ropes course offers six 6 individual courses for different ability levels, including a zipline course.

Hiking and Biking

Jiminy Peak’s summer fun isn’t all high-flying amusement park rides.

The resort is also home to a number of hiking and walking trails. Choose from more strenuous hikes, like the one to the top of Jiminy Peak, or something more friendly like a relaxing stroll on the walking trail network. Trail maps are available at the ticket window in the Paul Major Welcome Center.

Jiminy Peak also offers extensive lift-served mountain biking, with a network of single track and downhill cruisers suited for experienced riders. Full suspension bikes and body armor are recommended. Helmets are required and you must bring your own bike.
