Lee Founders’ Day Highlights
Founders’ Weekend will be a little different this year, due to safety precautions and other effects of the ongoing pandemic. Consequently, some events have yet to be scheduled. Despite this, the weekend still promises lots of fun, as reflected in the highlights below.
Taste of Lee kicks off the festivities on Friday, September 17th with an al fresco street party on a closed section of Main Street. Berkshires-style! Come sample the array of delectable offerings from Lee’s finest chefs, restaurants, and food vendors. Bon appétit!
Friday events also include live music, a variety of activities, and an electrifying fireworks display.
Saturday, September 18th sees even more excitement, starting off with the Lee Founders’ Day 5K. Be at the high school by 8am if you hope to compete or cheer on the runners.
The Hometown Parade follows closely after the race. This traditional, small town parade down Lee’s historic Main Street is one of the weekend’s biggest highlights. Young and old alike will enjoy the classic cars, floats, marching bands, clowns, and more. If you can attend only one Founders’ Day event, this is the one to choose.
After the parade, Main Street transforms into a festival of sidewalk sales, kids activities, food, and live music.
