Lee’s 19th annual heritage celebration, the Founders’ Day Weekend, is three days of family fun with a parade, live music, food tastings, sidewalk sales, crafts and much, much more.
Founders’ Day Weekend is not just a birthday party for the town of Lee. It’s a celebration of those who have helped to make Lee, MA the wonderful place that it is. Visitors are not just welcome but encouraged to share in the festivities!

Thursday, September 20th:
The Lee “Idol” singing contest returns with Round 1 Tryouts at the Spectrum Playhouse. Registration for the tryouts is at 6pm and performances begin at 8pm. Lee “Idol” Finals will happen Saturday evening and past “Idol” winners will perform at various venues throughout the weekend.
Friday, September 21st:
The festival kicks off proper with, among other things, Main Street Sidewalk Sales, the Creative Lee Annual Art Show, music in the park, the Lee Chamber Corn Cook-Off and, of course, the ever-popular “Taste of Lee.” The “Taste of Lee” features area restaurants and local food vendors lining Main Street with their finest offerings … a real food lover’s paradise.
Saturday, September 22nd:
The celebrations continue with the must-see, Hometown Parade. Watch the town of Lee come out and celebrate itself in the time-honored, American, tradition of the Main Street parade! Afterwards, if you’re looking for some good, clean fun with the kids, the Lee Youth Association Open House will be serving up free hotdogs and activities such as face painting, balloon making, and more. Of course, the sidewalk sales, raffles, food, and entertainment continues in throughout the day and don’t forget the Lee “Idol” Finals, Saturday night at the Spectrum Playhouse!
Sunday, September 23rd:
Sunday finishes things up with the Kiwanis Annual Pancake Breakfast at Saint Mary’s School, a Musical Brunch at the Good Purpose Gallery, featuring talented local musicians and organic food, and live music continues in the park. You probably won’t want to miss the Launch of the Duck Race, either, held riverside near the Gazebo on Frank Consolati Way.
