Over the last two summers, we’ve been watching as 4 new buildings were added to the Tanglewood Music Center campus. The new Linde Center for Music and Learning, summer home to the Tanglewood Learning Institute, opens June, 2019 with 140 summer events!
Tanglewood Music Festival heats up Berkshires summers like no other series of events. Now, thanks to the newly constructed Linde Center, the excitement can continue throughout the year. That’s because the new buildings are the first at Tanglewood with both heating and air conditioning, making the state-of-the-art facility truly all-season!
The Linde Center complex provides performance and rehearsal space for Tanglewood Music Center and Tanglewood Learning Institute. The largest of the buildings has seating for 200 concert goers. The same, flexible space can also provide space for up to 300 students. Smaller studios are available for small ensemble rehearsals, master classes, and lectures.
While the Center has less seating than Ozawa Hall, those it does provide put you closer to the performers than ever before.
The new buildings have state-of-the-art audio and video facilities, roof-mounted solar panels, and other environmentally friendly features. There is also a new, 150-seat café. Enjoy a meal between shows and you rub elbows with some of the world’s finest musicians!
Grand Opening and 2019 Summer Schedule
The public ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Linde Center is scheduled for Friday, June 28th, with open houses the following day. Soon thereafter the Tanglewood Learning Institute 2019 summer schedule begins – and what a schedule! More than 140 events are on tap.
