A Valentine’s Day getaway means different things to different people. That’s part of what makes our corner of the Massachusetts Berkshires so perfect a romantic destination: there are so many wonderful things to do together here!
Outdoor recreation is available in myriad forms. We’re surrounded by skiing opportunities, whether you prefer downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, or snowboarding. Snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and both indoor and outdoor ice-skating are also available.
Cultural activities abound, as well. Melville’s Arrowhead Farm, Berkshire Botanical Gardens, Norman Rockwell Museum, Tanglewood, Mahaiwe, and so many others are all within easy reach. Like skiing opportunities, our Berkshires B&B is surrounded by world class theaters, museums, gardens, and galleries.
When it comes to dining, the Berkshires are in a class of their own. Though the scene is ever-changing, we try to keep our list of the Best Berkshires Restaurants up to date.

The Berkshire Botanical Garden opens for the season on May 1, 2011. Each year we know that spring has truly arrived once the Botanical Garden opens. We look forward to it – not just as a herald of warm weather, but because of the many fine events offered at the gardens.
The season opens with Out on a Limb: Tree Houses: Architects Take a Bough. The exhibition features six creative tree houses by the following architects and designers: Michael Trapp, Joseph Cho, Stefanie Lew, Robyn Sandberg, Gray Davis, Will Meyer, Mark Smith and Tim Smith, and James Odegaard. These tree houses redefine the treehouse that your father may have built in your backyard. They make the spirit soar with possibilities.
Berkshire Botanical Garden is comprised of 15 acres of meticulously maintained barberry shrubs, majestic Oak trees, gardens and trails. The gardens are some of the oldest in the country, and focus on plants native to the region. Many guests of our Berkshires Bed and Breakfast enjoy visiting the gardens during their stay with us.
The Berkshire Botanical Gardens are approximately six miles from our Berkshires Lodging. We recommend stopping by Stockbridge Massachusetts on the way there or back for a bite to eat.
Additional information about the gardens is available at Berkshire Botanical Gardens.
Something magical will happen in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on December 4, 5 and 6, 2009. Art will come to life.
Norman Rockwell’s famous painting of Stockbridge Main Street will be recreated on the streets of the town. You’ll feel as if you stepped into the painting as you walk by dozens of antique cars and pass by carolers dressed in historic garb.
There will be a Holiday Play Performance and a Holiday Concert, along with a Stockbridge House Tour. The Berkshire Botanical Gardens join in the celebration with their annual Holiday Marketplace, where you can view and purchase lovely holiday wreaths, decorations and plants. IS183 Art School of the Berkshires will host its Holiday Art Sale, and there will be an Old fashioned Church Fair.
Stockbridge is close to our Lenox MA bed and breakfast, making it a great day trip from the inn. You may well take care of all of your holiday shopping at this festive event – and if you do, you are guaranteed to offer some of the most unique gifts of the season.
Our Berkshires inn will be decorated for Christmas and Hanukkah come November 27. We spend Thanksgiving with friends and family, and are refreshed and ready to celebrate the holidays again and again with our guests throughout the month of December.
