The Maple sugaring season in Massachusetts is a short one, typically running from mid-February to mid-March. This is the time when temperatures rise enough for the sugar maple sap to flow.

Sugarmakers collect the sap with taps and buckets, then boil it down in their sugarhouses to make pure and delicious Massachusetts maple. The sweet and seductive scent of maple from their operations is a wonderful part of the season. Come experience it during Massachusetts Maple Month!

If you’re scratching your head at that, it’s clear you are not from this part of the country because, up here, everyone knows about sugaring time. It’s a major, seasonal event in this part of the United States!
